I'm a Senior!!!!

I'm a senior in high school now. I remember walking through the school gates freshman year as though it was yesterday. I hear again and again how fast senior year goes and I'm scared. Once I leave high school I'm officially an adult. Ew.

Magical Santa Monica

Today I ditch practice and ventured to the magical land of Santa Monica, California. The weather was perfect so today was absolutely beautiful! First my family and I went to the Main Street just to take a gander and look somewhere different for a change. It reminded me of Main Street in Ventura with less thrift stores there was just one rinky dink one.

The first store we went into was One Life which is a fairly small health foodstore. I read some review of the place the night before and some of it was very accurate the workers were rude! Not happy at all. I thought those health food stores were supposed to be uplifting, well this was not. It had a decent selection but very very overpriced. My mom and I ended up leaving with a new insence holder and a glass container. The cashier was very sour, he rang us up, threw the reciept on the stuff and left without putting our stuff in the bag! I give the place 2 and half stars just because I did not like the attitude of the employees.

We strolled down the street occasionally looking inside stores. Things these days are overpriced. It's just life. We went to a Buffalo Exchange and I ended up leaving with a new hippie shirt which you may check in my new blog (thriftingwithjason.blogspot.com) and that's about it. For luch we ate at Wildflour a small pizza shack on the Main Street with affordable prices for a pizza. Yum. It was a really strange restaurant to eat at.

Then we went to the 3rd Street Promenade for more overpriced stuff. We didn't find really anything liked and then we went home. TRAFFIC WAS HORRIBLE! Today was just a day to get out our regular places and see something for a change. It feels great to leave Ventura County and just be somewhere else for a couple of hours :)

TRAFFIC WAS A BITCH!
It was hot so we stopped for some ice-cream at McDonalds.

Nice Summer Night

Quite the Morning Run.

This morning I ran at Seaside Beach in Ventura. Our running "leader" I suppose did not want to run the 10 mile run on the same course and wanted to switch it up a bit. So we ditched what we were supposed to do and just ran randomly throughout the downtown area until we ran at least 3-4 miles. It was HOT so we ended up turning around at about 3.5 miles from where we began. I was finally able to keep up with the "varsity" group and I felt good. I am now laying in bed icing my knee trying my best and praying that I do not get injured. My knee had a small pain during the run so I'm taking it easy tomorrow.

No title.

Today was tough (workout wise). This morning I ran at Arroyo Verde and did a very tough 8 miles on hilly trails. I felt like dying! I'm doing my best but I feel as though I am still doing something wrong (I am on my way finding that "something")

Then I ate shaved Ice with my siblings and bought this sticker.

I also came up with a perfect analogy for summer: "Summer is like ice-cream, it tastes amazing but must eventually melt away"

It is very bittersweet but I feel as though I captured "summer" quite nicely.

Ocean treasures

I love the beach :)

Beach combing is one of my favorite things to do. The sea treasures you see above are from a recent camping trip I took to Leo Carillo Tidepools which is right next to Malibu. Every time I get a chance to go to a beach, I have to go looking around for shells, barnacles, drift-wood, etc. I feel so alive when I go and collect things from the sea and I love the sheer excitement I get from finding something really cool and unique!

Summer Vibes.

Okay it officially feels like summer. 80 degree weather, summer cross-country practice, and no homework :)

Not Feeling So Well

All I have to say today is June Gloom is not treating me so well. I feel sick. I was going to go running today but I don't want to risk getting anymore sick. So yoga it is. I spent most of the day curled up on my bed drinking tea and reading and also I  used a roller. I'm feeling very tight in my calves.

One Semester in Ceramics

I am almost done with ceramics class this school year. It has been by one of the my favorite classes that I have taken throughout  high school. Ceramics has also been the ONLY class I look forward to, so it's very fun! I loved everything about that class... I loved the people, the feel of freshly cut clay, all the effort put into every project, and being able to turn a sketch into something real! Hopefully I get another chance to take another ceramics class in the near future because I love it so much. I will also miss my teacher who will be moving to the bay area over the summer she was the coolest most down-to-earth teacher I have ever had in high school so I wish her the best of luck in her new school.

Last Day of School Countdown: 6
Birthday Countdown: 6
Here is mostly everything I have done this semester in ceramics.
My first pinch pot lol (I love looking back at this project to see how much I have gotten better)
My second project which was a ceramic stamp to stamp into other projects.
My coil pot. I actually enjoyed coiling even though it was a lot of work.
This is a snail inspired by my friend Brenda and is appropiatly named "Sassy"
I coiled the shell of this creature and formed everything else. This took two weeks just to make and I put in so much work. I was biting my nails the days it was fired in hoped that it survived the kiln.
My scraffito pot (coiled) and I scratched in the designs my self.

I finally earned a chance on to the throwing wheel and made this little thing. I prefer coiling but the wheel makes life so much more easier
