Magical Santa Monica

Today I ditch practice and ventured to the magical land of Santa Monica, California. The weather was perfect so today was absolutely beautiful! First my family and I went to the Main Street just to take a gander and look somewhere different for a change. It reminded me of Main Street in Ventura with less thrift stores there was just one rinky dink one.

The first store we went into was One Life which is a fairly small health foodstore. I read some review of the place the night before and some of it was very accurate the workers were rude! Not happy at all. I thought those health food stores were supposed to be uplifting, well this was not. It had a decent selection but very very overpriced. My mom and I ended up leaving with a new insence holder and a glass container. The cashier was very sour, he rang us up, threw the reciept on the stuff and left without putting our stuff in the bag! I give the place 2 and half stars just because I did not like the attitude of the employees.

We strolled down the street occasionally looking inside stores. Things these days are overpriced. It's just life. We went to a Buffalo Exchange and I ended up leaving with a new hippie shirt which you may check in my new blog (thriftingwithjason.blogspot.com) and that's about it. For luch we ate at Wildflour a small pizza shack on the Main Street with affordable prices for a pizza. Yum. It was a really strange restaurant to eat at.

Then we went to the 3rd Street Promenade for more overpriced stuff. We didn't find really anything liked and then we went home. TRAFFIC WAS HORRIBLE! Today was just a day to get out our regular places and see something for a change. It feels great to leave Ventura County and just be somewhere else for a couple of hours :)

TRAFFIC WAS A BITCH!
It was hot so we stopped for some ice-cream at McDonalds.

Spring Break: Lego Land

Yesterday I went to Lego Land San Diego (ok Carlsbad) with my siblings. It was a really nice time. We rode practically almost all the big kid rides. The one that I really enjoyed and is possibly my favorite is the Dragon. I love everything about it. I got to sit at the very very back of the ride the second time I rode it and you could feel it much more than in the front. Too much fun for me.

Today I went to track practice. I did a chill eight miles with my buddies and had quite the good time. The only rough part of the run was that we had to run next cars and pollution. Sadly I live in such a trailess city. I have to go to Ventura if I want to run on trails.

I don't want to go back to school.
On the bright side I have like two months left :)

Spring Break: Oceanside/Carlsbad

It is 10:20 right now as I am composing this. I am staying in a hotel in Oceanside facing ocean. The hotel is older so it has a 1980s/1990s feel to it. It is hot and stuffy. On the bright side the shower soap that came with the room smells amazing! I am going to Lego Land tomorrow with my family. So we are kinda excited. We were there last winter break, but Lego Land will always be a place we can't refuse. The car ride coming here was okay, there was traffic here and there but it was a smooth trip.

Sadly my Spring Break is slowly melting away like butter on nice warm bread. I am so happy that I am just chilling. I had Track practice all week but I take the word "break" very seriously. In my opinion it is not a real "break" if your killing yourself on the track. So for this week I cherry picked which practices I would like to attend. To stay in shape and also because my body needed a chill break as well as my brain. Not working out everyday this week has done many wonders for my ankle and shin splints :) I still have a bit of homework to do but it's nothing major. It has also been nice to review for my AP tests. So far it has been such a chill vacation :)

Hopefully more of an update tomorrow.
